Earlier this year in June the 11th Annual Reeling For Kids Fishing Tournament took over Steinhatchee to help the kids at the Boys and Girls Club of Alachua County. Over the pat ten years, the Reeling for Kids tournament has been the Club's largest fundraiser and become one of the largest saltwater fishing tournaments on the West coast of Florida.
Every year about 115 boats head out in the wee hours of the morning to try and catch large fish for a chance to win a prize. However, there is no doubt the real winners are the children who enjoy the Boys and Girls club a little longer thanks to the hard work and dedication of Doug Johnson and his team.
